Mother's Day is quickly approaching and it’s time for the children to make that perfect something special for their Mom, Grandma, Nanny, Aunt and any other special women in their lives. Get the children outside to find a special rock and get out the glitter glue, wire, paint, and a paper plate for our easy and heartfelt My Mom rocks! Mother’s day craft.
This month’s theme is sure to make rock hounds out of your children. Our preschool and kindergarten “Rocks” theme includes science lessons, number, algebraic, and geometry math activities and games, and reading and language arts activities and games such as completing sentence strips with vocabulary words, practicing the -ock word family, and reinforcing the letter r.
Repurpose old tires to create indoor or outdoor small world areas, play areas, or places for exploration in your early childhood settings.
Indoor:
Cover tires with fabric or burlap to create small world play areas. We like the idea to use round plastic buckets or bowls for the inside.
