Flowers Rhymes and Songs for Preschool and Kindergarten

Ring a Ring o' Roses
Adapted by Jolanda Garcia, KidsSoup, Inc.
Listen to Tune

The song starts with children holding hands while walking or skipping in a circle. At the end the third verse, children stay seated on the floor. At the end of the fourth verse, children jump up again on the count of 1, 2, 3.

Ring a ring o' roses
A pocket full of posies
A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
We all fall down.

Ting a ting o' tulips
A handful of red tulips
A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
We all fall down.

Ding a ding o' daisy
A bundle of white daisies
A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
We all fall down.

Fing a fing o' flowers
Pretty flowers under the tree.
We all jump up
1, 2, 3!

Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary
Nursery Rhyme

Mary, Mary, quite contrary
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells,
And cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.

Mary, Mary, quite contrary
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells,
And cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.

I'm a Little Flower Bulb

Original Author Unknown
(Tune: I'm a Little Teapot)

I'm a little flower bulb, small and brown,
Buried in the cool, dark ground.
As the days grow warmer, watch and see,
I'll sprout through the earth -- Yippee!

Growing, growing, growing every day,
Sprouting leaves that gently sway,
Next comes a bud and then a flower,
A face to shine 'neath sun and showers.
