Galaxy Invitation to Play and Explore

Research has proven that children learn through play. Fine motor skills, creativity, and play are the main focuses in this fun galaxy and space play area in which children explore space and our galaxy.

Focus Skills: fine motor skills, shapes, creativity

Materials needed:
Large frame (we removed the glass)
Black felt
Glass pebbles, different kinds of stars, small pom-pom or stryrofoam balls
White crayon

We love to use frames to make our play areas inviting. Place the materials inside some nice bowls. Cut the felt to fit inside the frame and place on a table.

Preschool Activities:

Children will strengthen their fine motor skills by picking up the small items to create a galaxy with stars and planets.

Preschool Activities:

To extend the activity, use a white crayon to draw some lines and shapes on the back of the felt. Children can choose which activity they want to play by turning over the black felt.

Preschool Activities:

Preschool Activities:

Want to focus on shapes? Draw some shapes on the black felt and let children use the materials to create shape constellations in the night sky.
