Preschool Fine Motor Skills Activities with Conversation Hearts

Fine motor control is the coordination of small muscle movements and nerves to produce small, precise movements. One example of fine motor control is picking up a small item with the index finger and thumb. There are lots of activities that can increase muscle strength and coordination, while preparing children for writing and holding a pencil. Let children discover these fun activities to help them strengthen their fine motor skills.

What you need:
Free Conversation Heart Printables (links are located below each picture)
Conversation Hearts Candy
Small containers
Craft paper

Pour conversation hearts on the table. Let children sort and place the hearts in the small containers.

Next, invite children to count the candy in the containers. Let each child pick a colored craft paper and use the conversation hearts to make a picture.
