B Like Bows

What you need:
Gift bows
Card stock paper
Scissors
Glue

- Recognize and identify the letter Bb as in bow.
- Recognize and identify the first letter of their name.
- Develop fine motor skills through tracing, gluing, and decorating.
- Strengthen letter–sound awareness by naming words that start with the same letter.
- Foster creativity and pride in personal work.
What you do:
B as in Bow
Draw a letter B on to card stock paper and cut out.
Hand out a letter to each child. Ask children the name of the letter. Let children trace the letter with their index finger. Encourage children to name items that begin with the letter b.
Show children a bow. Say, bow begins with the letter B. /b/ bow.
Let children glue bows on top of the letter B.
Display letters on the wall.
Variation:
Initial Letters with Bows
Draw and cut out the first letter of each child’s name.
Let the children decorate their letter by gluing on small bows, then display the finished letters around the classroom for a festive touch.
