Gift Bows Patterns

What you need:

Gift Bow Patterns printables
Small red, green, and silver gift bows
Container

Learning Skills and Standards:

Identifies, recognizes, predicts patterns: Can create and extend simple patterns

What you do:

Print Gift Bow Patterns printables and cut out each card. Place gift bows inside a container.

Large Group

Place gift bows inside a gift bag. Let each child pull out one gift bow. Ask children to help you create an ABAB pattern with two colors. Invite a child to extend the pattern. Next, encourage children to make their own ABAB pattern. If children are familiar with ABAB pattern, create a BBAA pattern, then an ABCABC pattern together.

Small Group

Place the Gift Bow Pattern Cards and the gift bow container on a table. Let children sort the gift bows by color. Then, invite children to choose a pattern card to copy and extend the patterns on the cards. 

Extensions:
Hand out a Gift Bow Patterns Worksheet to each child and let them color their own patterns.
