Fall Leaves Play and Sensory Exploration

Children often learn best and retain the most information when they use their senses. Our fall-themed sensory activities will encourage your preschoolers and kindergarteners to use all five senses as they explore, create, play, and investigate.

Fall Leaves Small World Play Area for Preschool and Kindergarten

Collect fall leaves, twigs, branches, pinecones, acorns, etc. and place them inside a large tub. Add toy hedgehogs, owls, birds, squirrels, and small baskets to the tub.

Fall Sensory Exploration Table

Place leaves (dried and green leaves) inside a small basket. Add scissors, mortar and pestle, small containers, Styrofoam blocks with skewers, and an *optional small plastic hammer on the table. Let children explore the leaves by grinding, snipping, crumbling, stacking, and crushing them.
