Folder Games and Emergent Reader Booklets

Find a colored and b/w versions of our printable emergent reader booklets for each theme.  It’s easy to make multiple copies so the children can read and color them in your class, and then take the books home for further reinforcement and to share with their family.  We offer a growing collection of free printable emergent reader booklets that focus on rhyming, word families, sight words, or contain concepts for science, math, and social studies commonly used in early childhood themes.

Our multitude of creative file folder games are easy to make and easy to store. They are a great teaching tool to give children focused practice with a key learning skill. You can use them for the student to carry to their seat, to use in your math, literacy, or science center.

Language and Literacy Activities

Reading skills are critical for preschool learning and childhood development. By developing an interest in reading, you'll instill the desire to learn to read. Our resources contain fun and age-appropriate preschool literacy activities and emergent reader booklets for children to color and share. Finger plays, rhymes, songs, and felt stories are another fun way to help your children to develop the vocabulary they will need as they enter school and begin to read.

Our literacy resources enable young children to develop language arts skills through the context of shared reading with the use of quality children's literature, shared writing, language experience, and reading and writing centers.

Math Activities, Games, and Worksheets

Preschool Math. Learning and using early math skills help children to make sense of the world around them and to develop their ability to reason and problem solve.

Using math concepts is a natural part of young children's play and daily activities. Through play, children explore mathematical concepts such as counting, sorting, measuring, classifying, comparing quantities, and recognizing shapes and patterns. Our preschool actitvities includes learning more about geometrical shapes and objects, measurement of length, weight, capacity, time, and temperature, use of money, graphs and charts used for data analysis and prediction, and patterns.

Our resources contain fun activities, folder games, and lessons for teaching math with manipulatives. Our fun printable worksheets provide children with the opportunity to practice their learned skills: Numbers, Shapes, Measurement, Patterns, Counting, and Simple Additions and Substractions.

Arts and Crafts Projects

Preschool crafts stimulate children's imagination and creativity. Arts and crafts projects contribute to the development of fine and gross motor skills in young children. Our resources contain printable step-by-step craft instructions, patterns, and pictures of each art or craft project. All our preschool crafts use craft materials that can be easily found around the house or bought in any craft store such as construction paper, pompoms, craft sticks, wiggly eyes, pipe cleaners, and recycled materials like old cereal boxes and paper rolls.

Pre-writing Skills, Fine Motor Skills, and Gross Motor Skills Activities

Before learning to write, it is important that children practice tracing and drawing with a pencil or crayon to gain basic pencil-control skills. These pre-writing skill activities lead to the ability to form letters and numbers.

Our printable coloring pages, tracing worksheets, and writing worksheets support children's fine motor development and help build the strength and dexterity (quick and precise movements and coordination of the hands and fingers) necessary to hold a pencil appropriately. Develop your preschool children's ability and gross motor skills through various fun indoor and outdoor games and songs.
