What you do:
Paint 4 craft sticks red and 4 craft sticks white. Let them dry. Out of red craft paper cut a rectangle just a little bit smaller then the 8 craft sticks put together.Glue them in an alternating pattern to the red craft paper. Print and cut out blue rectangle with stars and glue to craft sticks.
Note: Since this American flag coaster does not have the correct number of stars and stripes, explain to the children that the real American flag has 13 red and white stripes and 50 stars.
